New Saints Resources!
All of RCL Benziger’s information about saints and holy people has now been gathered in one convenient location in the Resource Center.
For your convenience, this information can be sorted in a variety of ways. At the top of this page you can see links to view the Saints by Date. This will display the complete list of available saint stories by their feast day. Just click on the name of the saint to view that particular story. You can do a quick search for a particular feast day by using the calendar function to the left or by clicking on one of the months below the calendar calendar function.
To view an interactive list of saints by alphabetical name, click on the Saints by Alpha Name button at the top of the page. This will display a list from which you can select the name of the saint you wish to view.
The Marian Feasts button takes you to a page with detailed descriptions of each of the feasts honoring Mary. This section is arranged by month.
Finally, the buttons for Faith First Saints and Blest Are We Saints will take you to a list of the saints in each grade and chapter of your Faith First or Blest Are We series. Each list can be sorted by feast day, saint’s name or book chapter. Note that you will still be able to reach this same material from FaithFirst.com or BlestAreWe.com by clicking n the Resource Center link on the home pages of either site.
You can also search for a particular saint by any keyword simply by typing your search words into the “Type + Enter to Search” box at the upper right of any page.
To your left, you will see a NEW translation feature. This mechanism offers a translation of the page you are viewing into several different languages. Simply click on the flag of the country into whose language you wish to translate the text on the page. Please note, however, that these are “machine” translations. You may find that some pastoral language will not translate well.
Recently Canonized Saints
On October 11, 2009, in a special ceremony in St. Peter’s Square in Rome’s Vatican City, Pope Benedict XVI canonized Damien of Molokai and Jeanne Jugan. Click on the links to learn more about our two newest saints.
